The Eastern Raiders is an AAU Basketball Club that was developed to serve the needs of the many talented and committed Boys and Girls basketball players on the North Shore. Our club has a strong commitment to develop our players through an emphasis on fundamentals, skill building and strong competition, while remembering that they are still kids, and that basketball is meant to be fun. We are based out of Hamilton, MA with gyms such as Gordon College, Endicott College, Sterling YMCA, Hamilton-Wenham High School, Shore Country Day School, Brookwood School and Pingree. We are adding teams out of Weston/Metrowest and Norfolk/King Philip for Fall 2008

Our coaching staff consists of experts in coaching basketball at all levels. They also know how to teach  and develop players. The also place a strong emphasis on the team and family concepts. We are truly blessed to have such a talented staff - and our players will really benefit from them. Our club is about the players. We place players on teams and have those teams compete in a tournament schedule that will allow those players to develop and reach their full potential. All fees charged go directly to cover the costs of uniforms, tournaments, administrative and gym costs. We will field teams for each AAU season based on our ability to provide quality coaching and the level of interest from players and parents. Boys and Girls from ages 9 to 19 are eligible to play with us.

We believe we can provide a unique combination for your son or daughter that can enable him/her to reach their potential while balancing life, school, family and faith. Our web based program will and clear communications to parents and players.

Below are some FAQ's

What types of players are you looking for?

We are looking for players who are committed to improving their skills and willing to play a team game. We look for players with good work ethics, proper attitudes and sportsmanship.

What are your objectives for the Level 1 and Level 2 teams?

Our main objective is make sure each player improves fundamentally and has the opportunity to play at their level.  We will tailor a tournament schedule to provide the most suitable level of competition for each team. All players will receive the same coaching and skill training.

What type of time commitment do you expect from your players?

Our Fall season will run from early September to mid-November. It will consist of an average of 2 games a weekend in the Fall tournaments and 1 practice a week. Our spring season will run from mid March to mid June and consist of five or six tournaments, which will be played on weekends. Our spring teams will practice twice a week.

While we encourage and hope you can make all the practices and tournaments, we understand that there are other priorities in your life including other sports. We ask clear communication when you cannot attend a game or practice so our coaches can prepare.

In the Fall, we play most, if not all of our tournaments at Gordon College, Endicott College, Sterling Teen Center and other gyms near the Hamilton-Wenham vicinity. In the Spring, we also will play our tournaments locally along with other selected area locations.

The south division will be closer to the Waltham area for tournaments

What will the cost per player be?

The cost for this Fall 2008 is $495 with a new uniform or $425 if you already have a uniform. All fees collected will go directly to tournaments, uniforms, administrative and team events. There will a fund raising event where we will go to a Celtics Game in November as a club and invite friends and family to join us in that event. Our goal is to keep the cost at a minimum. There is also an annual fee of $12-$14 per player for their AAU membership.

What is your philosophy on playing time?

Equal playing time isn't guaranteed, but we expect each player will have meaningful role and play meaningful minutes. Our first and foremost goal is to develop players.

Can I contact the coaches directly with additional questions?

Our coaches would be glad to speak with you and answer any questions. Their email and phone information can be found by clicking
